About Me

Hello!

My name is Hannah, and I was raised in Wichita, KS as one of four siblings. I starting participating in the arts of all kinds at a young age. I took up embroidery, quilt-making, painting, drawing, piano, ukulele, and choir by the age of 10, and settled on Musical Theatre as I entered high school.

I graduated high school as a member of NHS with honors, and membership in our competitive traveling show choir, senior ensemble, and larger choral group. In college, I continued participating in small choral ensembles, keeping up piano skills, and dabbling in directing as I pursued my BFA in Musical Theatre.

I ultimately graduated from Stephens College Summa Cum Laude with my BFA in Musical Theatre. Shortly after graduation, I moved to New York City, and I love it here. I just returned from a 14-month contract in South Korea where I had the chance to be in several shows, swing roles for the first time, become the Resources and Tour Manager, and experience an entirely new part of the world and culture.

I believe there are few things more important than the pursuit of truth. As an artist, I believe I have a responsibility to tell stories with that pursuit in mind. I adhere to the idea that "you are the character, the character is you," and the more life experience I gain personally, the more nuanced and complex tales I can tell professionally. I believe I have a responsibility to my art to confront uncomfortable realities about myself and the world. As a collaborator, there is a kind of magic in world-building with those you trust. As artists in the theatre, we have the special ability to create truth out of fiction (or partial fiction), and we are lucky enough to do it as part of a team. Every year I learn more about who I am as a person and as an artist, and I believe the two to be inextricably linked.

Look forward to future collaborations!
